That is the trade: nobody can freeze your funds, and nobody can rescue them either. Four habits keep almost everyone out of trouble.

  • Never share your recovery phrase. No legitimate wallet, support agent or giveaway will ever ask for it.
  • Check the URL before you approve. Read the request prompt, the network and the amount.
  • Use a hardware wallet for large balances. Pair it with the extension and keep keys offline.
  • Revoke old connections. Disconnect dApps you no longer use from the extension's settings.
